At Sharp, we understand that our people are vital to the success of our business, they are the backbone of what we do; it goes without saying that we value our people greatly. We are fortunate to have a dedicated team who all have a can-do attitude and take pride in the work that they do.
We have a strong focus on Health & Safety in the workplace, ensuring all employees are adequately trained and competent in Health & Safety practices.
We are proud to have a very family-orientated and diverse workplace, with people from many different cultures and ethnicities. Due to such diversity, we realised that at times, there was a breakdown in communication. So, in 2020 we partnered with Upskills who facilitated a tailored training programme ‘Sharp People’ to help develop the communication skills of our manufacturing team. The programme ran over a 24-week period with the aim to cement positive change and grow the potential of both individuals and our business as a whole. ‘Sharp People’ also provided some upskilling for the team around numeracy, literacy and financial management.
This programme was well-received by the team with 100% engagement. We will look to continue on with these types of initiatives to help support our people.
